    Some Kind of Certainty

    by Ewan Robertson
Ewan Robertson - Some Kind of Certainty :In 2008 Ewan became the first singer/guitarist to win the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award.  A founder member of the popular band Breabach, this is Ewan's first solo CD (released on the Greentrax label) and is an accomplished piece of work full of great songs and tunes. He has enlisted a host of a brilliant musical guests in the shape of Angus Lyon (piano, Hammond Organ, accordion & backing vocals), Ewan MacPherson (12 string guitar, mandolin, banjo, Jew’s harp & backing vocals), Rick Taylor (trombone & backing vocals), Patsy Reid (fiddle, viola & cello), Alan Train (pedal steel), Donald Hay (drums & percussion), James Lindsay (double bass) and Emily Smith (backing vocals). Ewan himself takes lead vocals and plays guitar. A real classy album with Ewan’s fine voice sitting comfortably in front of some stunning and varied instrumental arrangements. Lovely!
