Currently a student on the traditional music course at RSAMD, Catriona is also a fiddler and Gaelic singer with all-girl band Teine. The group was formed when the four were students at Nicolson Institute in Stornoway. They featured on the opening nights of the Hebridean Celtic Festival 2004 and 2005 and consequently were invited to play at Celtic Fusion in County Down, Northern Ireland. Teine have also performed at Danny Kyle's Open Stage, Celtic Connections and represented the Western Isles in Orkney at the 30th Anniversary celebrations of the Islands' Councils. The RSAMD student from Lewis won the title BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2007 after a moving and beautiful performance at The City Halls is Glasgow during Celtic Connections Festival. |
