Croftwork is the fourth album from this Skye-based band. As was the previous album, they recorded it in Roag in Skye. This band are fine innovators and Croftwork is their most high tempo album to date. There are performances from special guests as well as a top class brass section on this CD and the band have worked hard to try and make this their best release yet. Tremendous work from the boys with plenty of laid-back rythmn, contemporary groove, and yet still a strongly identifiable Scottish accent. Pipes and whistles, fiddles, mandolin and guitars surge with dobro, piano, horns and twanger (yes!) in a hyper-cool Celtic collection.
The Peatbog Faeries are: Peter Morrison - Pipes & whistles, Adam Sutherland - Fiddle , Tom Salter - Guitar, Leighton Jones -Keyboards, Innes Hutton - Bass & percussion, Iain Copeland - Drums

MORE powerful and highly energised folk-jazz-rock-funk fusion from the Isle of Skye.
MORE powerful and highly energised folk-jazz-rock-funk fusion from the Isle of Skye. The Peatbog Faeries' fourth album finds them in fine fettle, reeling off dancefloor friendly grooves under folk-inspired melodies on guitar, pipes and fiddle. The core band is augmented by a number of guests, including trombonist Rick Taylor and saxophonist Nigel Hitchcock (both now resident on Skye) in a small but potent horn section. Guitarist Peter Morrison has written most of the material, sometimes in collaboration with other band members, with a couple of tunes from fiddler Adam Sutherland thrown in.
Kenny Mathieson,
a compelling, haunting, danceable spree
put simply, a compelling, haunting, danceable spree that makes no apologies for roots, indeed, would not and could not exist without them so shouts it loudly from the rooftops......such glories flood rather than pepper the rest of an album that's almost taken up residence in the stereo. Your home will be the poorer for not owning this joyful, playful, energetic wonder.................Simon Jones, Froots, October 2005

Classic release Gary S
Another blistering release from this Skye-based band. This time they have added a brass section to the mix which adds a funk section when combined with Ian Copeland's drumming. Peter Morrison again gives lots of great tunes to the band which surely will become classics. All festivals should book this band as they are guaranteed to have the audience dancing.
