| The current title for this latest 'word and song presentation with pictures' is Ireland - A History Of Struggle In Song'. Beginning with the songs of the 1798 Rebellion all the way through to the recent ones about the peace process, it's a kind of broad brush depiction of the way politics and culture have intersected throughout several centuries of Irish resistance to British rule, with thumbnail portraits of some of the chief exponents, including the Clancys, Dubliners, Behan family and The Pogues. It all kicks off at 8.30pm sharp and tickets are £8 and £5 at the door. |
