The Lismore Fiddle Retreat is a new venture that aims to support fiddlers in a comfortable and beautiful setting. Mairi Campbell is a highly experienced teacher who teaches and performs all over the world. Her teaching is a combination of tradition and technique, allowing the student to play unhindered. Lismore Fiddle Retreat caters for 7 students at a time, therefore allowing each student to advance at their own pace with individual guidance as well as collective learning.
Students can expect a relaxed atmosphere, good food and effective learning.
Mairi Campbell is one half of The Cast, a duo with Dave Francis. In 2007 they released their third recording, Greengold, on Greentrax records. She is also musical director of Sangstream , a community folk choir based in Edinburgh. She currently combines performance, song writing, teaching and looking after her two daughters.

Lismore - How to get there:
Road
Take the A82 north, onto A828 through Glencoe and Appin, turning right at sign for ’Lismore Ferry’. Ferry times from Port Appin are: 10, 12, 2, 4, 5, 6 and last boat at 8pm. Ferry run
is 10 mins. Give yourselves 4 hours to drive from Edinburgh or Glasgow. You can also drive via Oban (A85), over Connel bridge (A828) to Port Appin.
Rail
Take the train to Oban. There, buy a ticket for the Lismore ferry from Caledonian MacBrayne office on the pier, which leaves at 2.45pm and takes 40 mins. nb: There is no Sunday boat from Lismore to Oban, but lifts could be arranged via Port Appin.
