    Ceilidh Club, The Lot, Edinburgh

    The Ceilidh Club at the Lot runs every Tuesday evening from 8pm in one of Edinburgh's finest acoustics music venues, holding up to 80 people and features a beautiful wooden floor, an inhouse, state of the art, sound system and lighting.
    Featuring some of Edinburgh top ceilidh bands. Each band has a caller who will teach the dances, so the event is great for everyone from complete beginners to experienced ceilidhers.

     Dancing will be to three or four piece bands featuring some of the best fiddlers, accordionists and rhythm sections from the most popular Edinburgh ceilidh bands. The bands will include players from the Robert Fish Band, the Belle Stars and Bella McNab. Each band will have a caller who will teach some of the best known and popular dances, and some more unusual dances. You don't need a partner, as everyone is here to share a good time.

    Chapelton Folk Club

    Chapelton Folk Club meets every Tuesday in The Chapelton Inn,  Chapelton which which is near Strathaven on the East Kilbride Road.
    For almost thirty years it has been host to almost everyone who is anyone on the folk scene....and artists are welcomed by a knowledgable, informed and friendly audience who ask only to be entertained. All types of acoustic music - traditional, contemporary, blues, country etc.. are in evidence over the course of the year performed by a wide variety of artists from as far afield as America, Australia and Stonehouse. So if the style of music is not to your taste one week it is a safe bet that the music on offer the next week will be. 
    The music starts at 8:30 and visitors and musicians are always welcome. Entry is £5 for non members - £3 for members.

    Edinburgh University Folk Society

    The "Edinburgh University Folk Song Society" was renamed "Edinburgh University Folk Society" to reflect the high proportion of instrumentalists and instrumental music involved. Today it consists of 10-15 student members and at least as many non-student members. There is the occasional older member as well as all the younger students and ex-students. Non-students include staff members and those who are otherwise connected to the university, including a proportion who are former students or who tutor students.
    The club meet every Tuesday at 9.00pm at 48a The Pleasance in Edinburgh.  Meetings are notoriously informal and involve music, chat, crisps, sweets, beer and the occasional home baking! All instrumentalists, singers and listeners are welcome.

    Lossiemouth Folk Club

    Lossie Folk Club meets every Tuesday at 8.30 p.m. in the Beach Bar, Lossiemouth. The club is not run by either a commitee or any single individual. It runs by common agreement of the people who attend the club, we do not charge a membership fee because we are not an exclusive club, everyone is welcome to attend and have a voice in what goes on.
    We do not charge admission for normal club nights, however, on occasions when either food is provided or a paid artiste is playing, we may charge a nominal admission to cover our expenses but not with the intention of making a profit.
    Folk Club night at the BEACH BAR as usual on every TUESDAY NIGHT so if you're in the area, please drop in for a visit.

    Guest performers every meeting. All, including visiting singers and musicians, are welcome.
    The historic Royal Burgh of Montrose is the northern-most coastal town in Angus. It was founded around 1140 by King David 1 as a burgh and port serving Angus and Mearns Located around a natural harbour, it continues its strong affinity with the sea as a source of support services for Scotland's North Sea oil industry.

    Penicuik Folk Club

    Penicuik Folk Club has been in existence since 1986 - bringing a wide variety of folk music (interpreted broadly) to the people of Penicuik and providing a place to sing, play or listen every Tuesday of the year. The club meets Royal Hotel, 34 High Street, Penicuik, EH26 8HU The club holds a concert once each month (generally the second Tuesday of the month) when a professional folk artist or band performs and visitors to the club pay an entrance fee. All other Tuesdays are free Singers Nights.
    Concerts start at 8.15pm.
