    Strathspey in May: 2nd - 11th May 2008

A n excellent annual spring festival taking place in Grantown-on-Spey, The Highlands. Strathspey in May came about to foster interest and participation in traditional music, song and dance. Its core aspect is the provision of adult tuition workshops in a range of instruments including voice and song for a wide ability range but there are also great concerts, sessions, exhibition(s) and more.
Grantown-on-Spey is located in the heart of Strathspey in the Scottish Highlands. Strathspey is the name given to that part of the Spey Valley as it widens out North of the Cairngorms, from Aviemore to the Moray Coast at Speymouth near Elgin.
The nearest railway station is in the tourist resort of Aviemore, 15 miles South, which is on the main line to Inverness from London, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
