    Falkland Traditional Music Festival: 20th - 28th June 2008

    A great wee traditional music festival featuring ceilidhs, concerts, workshops, sessions and competitions. Falkland is located in the rural heart-land of the kingdom of Fife. Situated at the north-east base of the east Lomond hill and on the edge of the fertile “Howe of Fife” it possesses not only the ancient and stately Palace of Falkland, with its rich historic associations, but it also enjoys magnificent views. Falkland is 9 miles from the M90 motorway and 19 miles from St. Andrews.

     2008: 20th - 28th June 2008.

    • Friday 20th June:
    • FAMILY CEILIDH WITH TOM ORR AND HIS BBC BROADCASTING CEILIDH BAND PLUS GUEST.
    • Village Hall, 8pm, Bar & Raffle.
    • Tickets £6 adult, £5 OAP, £4 under 16.
    • Saturday 21st June:
    • MUSIC WORKSHOPS.
    • 11am - 12pm. Register at Village Hall at 10.45am. £2.00 per person
    • Accordion - Gary Sutherland, Fiddle - Stella Wikie, Composing Music - Dr Bruce Thomson
    • MUSIC COMPETITIONS.
    • Village Hall. From 2pm. See competitions page.
    • Entry to non-competitors £1.00 adult & 50p child
    • CONCERT WITH THE TANNAHILL WEAVERS PLUS SUPPORT BAND TIRIODH.
    • Village Hall, doors open 7.20pm. Bar.
    • Tickets: £10 adult, £8 under 16.

    2007: 22nd - 24th June 2007: traditional Medieval Street Market and children’s parade an afternoon not to be missed. A great selection of stalls selling everything from food to flowers. Look out for Cake and Candy the clowns on stilts, also live music and dancing. Guests includes Gordon Shand and his Scottish Dance Band, Shooglenifty.
