The Hairst (The Harvest) is a brilliant celtic festival taking place throughout Angus in July and August with events including Heritage Concerts, Angus Folk Sessions,Saturday Big Skirls, Ceilidh Dances, Kids events and much more. Celebrating and keeping alive the traditions of Scottish music and dance in Angus.
The Hairst Sessions feature a superb range of traditional singers and musicians of all ages, from talented teenagers to the more ‘mature’ artiste! These 21 sessions in hotels and pubs across Angus provide an opportunity to listen to the best of Angus music. These are open sessions and you are most welcome to join in with a song or a tune.

2007: Starting in early July this year's Hairst will focus on a series of lunchtime outdoor performances, The Saturday Skirls, in each of the Angus burghs and a 21 gig programme of traditional music with The Hairst Sessions which take place in hotels and pubs across the county. ALL EVENTS ARE FREE

2005: This is the 6th year of The Angus Folk Sessions, a unique and major event in Angus, which features some of the finest Scottish folk musicians and singers from Angus and the surrounding area. 2004: This year's Hairst opens in terrific style with a launch concert in Arbroath's Webster Theatre on Friday July 23rd starring The Boys of the Lough The Hairst Angus Folk Sessions will feature almost fifty guest artistes of all ages over the summer period. from talented teenagers to the more 'mature' performer. Featured artistes will include: singers Maureen Jelks and Christine Kydd, Mike Ward on fiddle, Barbara Dymock singing and on the bodhran, Ian Kinnear and Mark Lumgair on the small and highland pipes, and Nigel Jelks on mandoline and concertina, plus many more. All musicians and singers welcome. Come along to join in or be part of the audience.
