Dunure Inn & Legacy's August Music Festival Fri 24th 8.30pm Legendary Scottish Bluesman Tam White Tam is the most highly acclaimed blues singer in Scotland. Known for starring roles in blockbusters like Braveheart he has been a friend of Paul and Iain of Legacy for many years and is delighted to support their drive to bring music to the people. Support act is with award winning blues-singers Gavin Doole and Katie Creighton. After the gig there will be a late night session and a chance to blether with Tam. This is rare opportunity not to be missed. Admission is by donation.
Sat 25th 2.00pm Afternoon session/ singaround. Some of Scotland's best musicians are coming for the 'craic'. More friends of Paul and Iain have agreed to come support their venture. Another chance to play along with or just listen to people you would normally have to pay to hear. Weather permitting sessions indoors and outside. Sat 25th 8.30pm Sara Grey & Keiron Means One of the top names in folk music, international star Sara has agreed to make this rare appearance in support of Legacy. Sara has gained a reputation not only for her excellent singing & playing, but also for the sheer warmth and enthusiasm that she radiates to her audience. Her son Keiron's voice has been described as high and lonesome. He is a gifted musician Support act for Sara is our very own Kin. You don't need to see into the future to know these are stars in the making. Again after the gig there will be another late night session and a chance to meet the guests. Admission again by donation.
Sun 26th 2.00pm Irvine and District Pipe Band IDPB have agreed to support our event by performing by the harbour and in the courtyard of the Dunure Inn. They are fabulous and will be just back from competing in the world championships. We will also be having another range of sessions throughout the afternoon for players, singers and listeners. Sun 26th 8.30pm Ian Forbes, Guitar maestro will pay his first visit to Dunure, it won't be his last! If you haven't heard him you are in for a treat if you have you will know he makes the guitar sing. It is amazing to see and hear. Legacy Iain and Paul will be joined on stage by friends to round off the weekend with another great concert. This weekend should not be missed. Admission to all events is free although donations will be gratefully accepted. Fees for performers has been raised by fund raising concerts throughout the year performed by Legacy. Any profits from weekend goes towards next festival weekend scheduled for April 4/5/6 2008.
