Now on DVD, for the first time in 2005, the wonderful World Pipe Band Championships which is held annually on Glasgow Green, is organised by Glasgow City Council and the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association. The World Pipe Band Championships have been associated with Glasgow since 1948 and last year in excess of 40,000 spectators, 230 bands - that's around 8000 musicians- thronged to Glasgow Green for the competition. The winners in 2005 were Scotland's own House of Edgar Shotts & Dykehead under the leadership of Pipe Major Robert Mathieson.
