    Restless Natives

Ronnie and Will are two free-wheeling lads living on a housing estate in Edinburgh. Broke and bored, the two decide to politely rob coachloads of tourists.

Restless Natives is a low budget, mid-1980s dash around Edinburgh and the Highlands of Scotland with the two latter-day Robin Hoods. Donning a wolf and a clown mask and armed with a puffer gun shooting out curry powder, the duo soon become a hit with the tourists and public alike..

With a fab sountrack from the band 'Big Country' and stunning Highlands scenery, this much-loved and, until now, much missed film is a thoroughly enjoyable gem.

Cast: Vincent Friell, Joe Mullaney, Teri Lally, Ned Beatty, Robert Urquhart, Bernard Hill, Mel Smith, Bryan Forbes, Nanette Newman, Ann Scott-Jones

    Running Time: 86 minutes
    PAL Format
    Classification: PG

    Innocent Times
    Ped

Restless Natives is a joy ride through the streets of eighties Edinburgh and the Highlands. The Cinematography is stunning especially when you think of the budget for the film but then again it's hard to make Scotland's wilds look anything but. The comedy is fairly innocent and memories of characters from favourite eighties sitcoms leave you with a warm nostalgic feeling by the end. A classic that deserves to be up there with Gregory's Girl and Local Hero in Scottish film lore.
