In the summer of 2004, the city of Glasgow hosted the very first "Piping Hot" festival - a brilliant week-long extravaganza paying homage to the art of piping and culminating in the annual World Bagpipe Championships. During that memorable week the very talented National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland under the direction of Paul Warren were recorded live in concert at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall with their guests Northumbrian piper Kathryn Tickell and the one and only Fred Morrison with Jamie McMenemy. This album captures the thrill of that exciting night.
