A 75 minute compilation featuring the hit singles and extended play recordings of Jimmy Shand and his band whose music was hugely popular in the golden years of 1955 - 1965. Jimmy's music was so danceable and his playing always had such a lift that it's no surprise that his was the most famous and best-loved Scottish country dance band in the world. Tunes like the Bluebell Polka, Mairi's Wedding and the 6.20 Two- Step (the signature tune of the White Heather Club) have become synonymous with the name Jimmy Shand. Listening to this CD, his sense of timing was second to none and his excellent, crisp delivery of the tunes whether they be waltzes, jigs or reels sounds just as fresh and exciting today, almost fifty years on. Surely the unmistakable mark of a fabulous musician.
