With an instrumental lineup that does not change, the musicians switch deftly from jigs to reels, Reid playing a different guitar riff each time through the tune, and Campbell alternating between chords, fill-ins and twinning the melody with the pipes.  Woven through it all is Fivey's brilliant percussion. He really has the rhythmic heart of a disciplined band drummer, unlike many drummers coming at pipe music from rock or jazz. Alongside that strict discipline is a willingness to bend and a good ear for the right sound at any given moment.
