Fine young Lewis Gaelic singer Calum Alex MacMillan turns out an excellent debut album, demonstrating his double Mod Gold Medal winning talents. Plenty of traditional songs with gentle accompaniment, a couple of instrumental tracks too, and a guest appearance from his father, Seonaidh Beag MacMillan.
The sleeve-notes have the songwords in both Gaelic and English.
.........this is his first album, which includes many rarely heard songs from his native Lewis, sung in beautiful natural, graceful Gaelic. He has invited his father, the well-known 'Lochies' singer Seonaidh Beag MacMillan to join him which is musical proof, if indeed we need it, that tradition-bearing is still an important part of our culture. We are extremely proud to have such a wonderful young amabassador for our musical tradition, and I am honoured to be able to recommend this album to you.... Margaret Stewart-Harding, Isle of Lewis.
