    Skerryvore - West Coast Life

    by Skerryvore

"The Isle of Tiree sits right on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, but it's right at the heart of West Coast Scottish Music. Skerryvore join a long line of terrific musicians from the tiny island, a band that will have you kicking up your heels on the dance floor till way after dark, reeling on the machair till the early hours." ...Mary Ann Kennedy. Produced by Allan Henderson.

"This is the real thing, as wild and beautiful as the island they come from"..Donald Shaw

    Skerryvore are:
    Daniel Gillespie: lead accordion
Martin Gillespie: small pipes and bagpipes
    Fraser West: drums
    Alec Dalglish: guitar

This is a genuinely exciting album. Skerryvore are true to their dance band roots, but they are the first band to emerge in a long time with a unique sound of their own out of that SDM tradition. Dance to it or listen to it - this is wonderful music.
