This CD presents examples of five regional fiddle styles played by seven of Scotland's finest musicians in recordings ranging from the 1930s onwards. An enormously valuable recording, it also has excellent sleeve notes. Strathspeys, reels, slow airs, marches, waltzes and jigs from five different regions of Scotland played by Hugh Inkster, Pat Shearer, Andrew Poleson, Donald MacDonell and Hector MacAndrew .
The Scottish Tradition Series consists of a selection of material previously held in the archives of Edinburgh University's School of Scottish Studies.
