The Scottish Tradition Series consists of a selection of material previously held in the archives of Edinburgh University's School of Scottish Studies.
Fiddle music recordings illustrating not only the distinctive arts of the older unaccompanied Shetland fiddlers but also the way in which the tradition is moving today. Featuring Willy Henderson & Bobby Jamieson, Tom Anderson, Bobby Peterson, Jimmy Johnston & Pat Sutherland, Willie Hunter, Ronnie Cooper and the Cullivoe Traditional Fiddle Band.
Also available Shetland Fiddle Music a fascinating little book written to compliment this CD. The text is linked to each track on the CD and there are insights into life in the Shetland island community and various nuggets of information the knowledge of which makes the music on the CD even more interesting.
