Ronan Martin is a great fiddle player from Skye who also has an extensive knowledge of the Highland fiddle technique and repertoire. This, his self-titled debut CD which also features Jonny Hardie of Old Blind Dogs on guitar, was recorded live at Jonny's family home in Strathdon, with the aim of capturing the energy of the Highland fiddle and the atmosphere of the historic surroundings. It includes many bagpipe tunes and Gaelic songs from the tradition, and there are extensive sleeve notes containing stories and background information.
