This is Rod's two early solo albums 'Two Hats' and 'Smiling Waved Goodbye' (less two tracks) compiled to make this value-for-money compilation, "Up To Date". Rod is arguably one of Scotland's finest male singers and has worked with many of Scotland's top groups including The Easy Club. As well as following a solo career, Rod is currently a member of Jock Tamson's Bairns.  Rod is known for his fine renditions of the songs of Robert Burns and there are two excellent examples here in "My Nannie O'" and "Willie Wassle". And his version of the Bleacher Lassie -  a traditional tale of true love being well rewarded - has never been bettered.

Rod is accompanied by Dick Lee on Two Hats (tracks 1-9) and Jack Evans, Hamish Moore, Dick Lee, Ron Shaw and James MacKintosh on the Smiling Waved Goodbye (tracks 10-16).
