Robert Wilson was a fine singer and a popular figure on the Scottish music scene until his tragic death in 1964. He started his career in the 1930's with The Rothesay Singers, moving on to the D'Oyly Cart Opera Company before becoming a solo singer with a mainly Scottish repertoire. Radio spots, full theatres and stardom soon followed. He was involved in a car accident in 1963 from which he never fully recovered. But he will never surely be forgotton, truly "The Voice of Scotland"
