When Relativity came to the forefront, all the band members were already well known for their work in other bands most notably the Bothy Band in the case of Triona and Mícheál and Silly Wizard in John and Phil's case. Together their enormous talent created one of the most memorable sounds of the 80's folk scene. The incomparable songs and keyboard work of Triona, the wonderful ballads from Mícheál and the sheer wizardry, artistry of John and Phil on accordion and fiddle made their concerts such exciting events. A supergroup indeed.
