Duncan Chisholm writes in the sleevenotes that Redpoint is dedicated to the memory of Donald Riddell who we know was his fiddle teacher. And he did a magnificent job: because this young man is a very fine musician indeed. The album was recorded with the help of fellow Wolfstone members Stuart Eaglesham, Ivan Drever & long-term friends Phil Cunningham, Andy Thorburn & Graham Willoughby. Alistair Clark writing for The Scotsman described the album as a 'triumph' & Chisholm as a phenomenally gifted musician.

This is my all time favoutite album. Absolutely suberb music. I could listen to Duncans fiddle playing all day and Ivans guitar is as they would say on the West Coast, "chust sublime"
