Dick Gaughan has selected the tracks for this amazing double album to represent three decades of his work as a folk musician. The album title refers to the one-time practice in Scotland whereby an apprentice had to prepare an example of his work to show what he had learned of his trade. Dick Gaughan's "Prentice Piece" is a demonstration of a master craftsman.
