The lively, contemporary sound of this exciting young ceilidh band is highly infectious. The Porridge Men are an Edinburgh & Glasgow-based band who play Scottish music with traditional instruments (fiddle, bagpipes, accordion, drums, and erm, didgeridoo).
Sinead and John Kerr, Scottish ice dancers, representing the UK in the 2006 Winter Olympics chose to use the song Planet Porridge from this CD for their ice dancing routine in the Championships in Turin in February 2006.
THE PORRIDGE MEN ARE:
Donald MacLeod - highland pipes and Scottish small pipes
Murray Fergusson - fiddle and keyboards
Iain MacPhail - accordion and midi bass
Andrew Horne - drums
Tom Wexler - percussion and didjeridoo
