This album was first released by the RSAMD as a limited edition in 2002 and includes many of the top students at the Academy at that time, plus their tutors.
The students are:-
Liam Brown, Neil Cameron, Stuart Cassells, Kirsty Cotter, Dominique Dodge, Gillian Frame, James Graham, Kathleen Graham, Steven Graham, Claire Gullan, Fiona Hunter, Lisa Morrison, Calum MacCrimmon, Lorna MacDougall, Malcolm McEwan, Darren MacLean, Angus MacPhail, Andrew MacPherson, Rosie Morton, Ian Muir, Ishbel Munro, Findlay Napier, Sarah Parker, Alan Paterson, Jennifer Port, Jenna Reid, Emily Smith, Fraya Thomsen and Lori Watson.
Several of these talented young people have gone on to establish themselves as professionals on the Scottish music scene and have since recorded solo and/or with bands. Fiona Hunter is now a member of Malinky while Jenna Reid was voted Best Up and coming Artist of 2005 in the Scots Trad Music Awards while Stuart Cassells, Gillian Frame , Emily Smith and Jamers Graham have all gone on to win the Young Scottish Traditional Musician of the Year Award and have recent albums on Foot Stompin'.
The tutors are:-
Brian McNeill (fiddle also producer), Rob MacKillop (lute) and James Ross (piano), Kenna Campbell (singer), Karen Marshalsay (harps), Maeve MacKinnon (singer), Calum Ross (singer) Mike Travis (percussion) and John Wallace (trumpet).
The albums consists of songs, including “The Dowie Dens o’ Yarrow” (Emily Smith); “A Mhairead Og” (James Graham); “Fhir a Chinn Duibh” (Ishbel Munro); “Sailin’s a Wearie Life” (Fiona Hunter); “Hielan’ Laddie” (Findlay Napier and Gillian Frame) and instrumental sets, including “The Brides and The Tartars” Set (various instruments); “For Meg of Abernethy” Set (various harps); “Liam’s Bonnet” Set (Liam Brown - pipes); “Da Burn o’ Cousta” (Jenna Reid - fiddle); “Whistle O’er The Lave O’t” (James Ross - piano) and more. There are 15 tracks on the album with almost 54 minutes playing time.
