Maggie Bell, known for her passionate and powerful singing style, launched her solo career when her group Stone The Crows broke up in 1973. She released two well received solo albums - 'Queen Of The Night,'(1973), and 'Suicide Sal’ (1975) and had a hit in the UK in 1981 dueting with B.A. Robertson on "Hold Me" reaching number 11 in the charts. Her song No Mean City was the theme to the popular television crime drama Taggart.
