On this album Eddi Reader pays tribute to Scotrland's national bard Robert Burns. Her innovative interpretation of his great songs may surprise the purists, many of whom  have very decided views on how his material should be presented. But Eddi has won herself  and perhaps even Robert Burns' poems, a new raft of fans with this CD.  Eddi Reader, on vocals and acoustic guitar, is joined by Ian Carr on acoustic guitar and piano; Phil Cunningham on accordion, piano and whistles; Roy Dodds on percussion; Christine Hanson on cello; Boo Hewerdine on acoustic guitar; John McCusker on violin, cittern and whistles; Colin Reid on acoustic guitar; Ewen Vernal on double bass; and The Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
