Clyde Valley Stompers - The Reunion Concert (double CD) : A fabulous double album featuring Ian Menzies and his Clyde Valley Stompers recorded 'Live in concert' at the Pavilion Theatre, Glasgow in 1985.
The Clyde Valley Stompers were the quintessence of the 1960's European traditional jazz movement. They achieved chart success and world acclaim during this period alongside contemporaries Chris Barber, Humphrey Lyttleton, Acker Bilk and Kenny Ball.
This concert came about when, during 1981 and 1983 former band members were brought back into the studio with Ian Menzies and producer Bill Garden at the helm. The success of these sessions let to the concept of a 'live' Reunion Concert. Recorded at the Pavilion Theatre, Glasgow one of the oldest Variety Theatres the band played for over two hours to an enthusiastic home town audience. This recording is a wonderful tribute to both the Clyde Valley Stompers and the glory of the Scottish 'Trad Jazz' movement.
