Ossian started out in the 1970's and their signature sound developed over several changes of personnel to become one of the great sounds of the 80s folk scene. Much of the music on this 1984 recording was innovative stuff to those of us who were then only discovering the wonders of traditional music but great tunes like Biddy form Sligo and Troy's Wedding now well-known on todays session scene, are still fantastic. The more so from hearing them played by one of the greatest bands.
