Traditional Shetland tunes with a Scandinavian influence. Aly Bain is one of Shetland's foremost fiddlers and on this album he joins forces with Swedish-based Dano-Norwegian folk musician Ale in an exploration of their Norse heritage. Aly Bain plays fiddle and Hardanger fiddle, with Ale Moller (mandola, cow's horn, willow flute, harmonica, whistles).
Ale Moller: Born in Malmo, Sweden, has been an important part of Swedish folk music for many a year, swinging with the best bands, like Frifot, Filarfolket and The Nordan Project. He’s now a professor at Sibelius Academy of Music in Helsinki.
