The William Gunn Collection of Pipe Music is a handsomely packaged re-issue of the ninth edition of The Caledonian Repository of Music. First published in 1848, the re-issue is from 1868. It's exciting to see this wonderful book come back into print after an absence of some years. In its collection of some 214 tunes this book is a treasure of piping precedent.

As Finlay MacDonald says in his introduction, " I first discovered  Gunn's  collection as an undergraduate at a time when more modern collections were no longer a source of inspiration. Over the years he has increased my repertoire and influenced my piping style considerably. I sincerely hope that both pipers and other  musicians will experience the same satisfaction from studying this work."
