Margaret Scollay has finally realised an ambition she had held for many years with the release of The Wilderness - a music book plus a CD. To add variety she had included several excellent tunes composed by her husband Alan Scollay and one by her father Lell Robertson. Also included on the CD is a beautiful slow air composed by Pat Shuldam Shaw called Lell Frae Yell. This tune Margaret added as a tribute to her father, who is also a fine fiddler and true enthusiast for the traditional music. Pat is of course well known for his popular tunes Margaret's Waltz and Rosemary Brown.
A well-presented spiral bound book, with excellent notes printed on good quality paper with the running order of the music corresponding with the CD tracks. The book is ideal for use on a music stand, as it is spiral bound and therefore will stay in place. The music is very clearly laid out making it easy to read. There are also some very useful bowings, and the chord sequences as very clear.
