This is a splendid song book from the early years of the 20th century. It is of particular importance because it provides the lyrics for all the songs in both English and Gaelic plus musical notation for full piano accompaniment. Songs include Mo run geal, dileas (My faithful fond one), Mo Dhachaidh (My Ain Hoose), Mairi bhan og (Fair Young Mary), Soraidh slan le Fionnairidh (Farewell to Fiunary).

The Minstrelsy of the Scottish Highlands (edited and arranged by Alfred Moffat) was originally an imprint of Glasgow publishing company Bayley & Ferguson. The company was eventually incorporated into Kerr's along with Mozart Allan and Thistle Records.
