    Jim Reids Legacy
    Derek Robertson

As an admirer of Jim Reids for many years it is hard not to be biased in review of this long overdue book. I would recommend this mix of songbook and biography as an indespensible guide to any fan of scottish folk music and culture. His liner notes to the many tracks he has performed over the years outlining his experiences with the songs author or its history is enthralling reading. For me Jims own compositions are the stand out tunes in this compendium, in time they will seem as timeless as the tradition tunes included with them. Only those tracks that could have been included and weren't stop this book being a 5 Star publication.
