    Hamely Fare

    by Sheena Wellington

Sheena Wellington is a wonderful singer of Scots songs and ballads with a career spanning many years. In this fine collection there are her versions of several classics including Lady Nairne's "The Laird O' Cockpen" and Robert Burns' "Parcel O' Rogues". Her natural voice is particularly suited to singing unaccompanied and "The Fair Flooer O' Northumberland" and "Bonnie Susie Cleland" are among the highlights. There is, of course, "A Man's A Man" - Robert Burn's outstanding anthem which Sheena sung at the opening of the Scottish Parliament. On this CD there is the live recording from that emotional, momentous and magic occasion.

Musicians: Pete Clark, Neil Paterson, Ewen Sutherland.
