    Tony McManus

    by Tony McManus

John Renbourn has called Tony McManus the best Celtic guitarist in the world and he may well be right. McManus is a triple threat on the instrument. He can flatpick highly ornamented jigs and reels at the lickety-split tempo of a wild session; his inventive arrangements and sensitive backup have made him a favoured accompanist with fiddlers such as Alasdair Fraser, Johnny Cunningham and Kevin Burke and he is a splendid fingerstyle interpreter of Scottish and Irish tunes. ACOUSTIC GUITAR magazine

"A musical tour de force. Brace yourself!"
    PHIL CUNNINGHAM

Musicians: Tony McManus - guitars & mandolin, Brian McNeill - fiddle. Mike Travis - percussion (djembe, ghattam, bongos etc). Patsy Sedden - harp. Rebecca Knorr - flute. Jim Sutherland - bodhran

    A stunning guitarist.....

"Tony McManus is quite simply one of the most accomplished guitarists in Europe, in whatever genre."

    Top Class
    Jamie Longmuir

I had the pleasure of seeing Tony in concert at the Shetland Folk Festival 5 years ago and he was simply superb. As a middling guitarist myself, I sat in awe watching Tony playing. He really is one of the finest guitarists in the world today. I purchased this CD at the venue and was lucky enough to have it signed by the great man himself, there and then! I am not sure how to describe the album apart from sheer class. Tony's ability to play a range of styles with such enthusiasm and perfection is simply breathtaking. There are no duff tracks on this album and it's just a pleasure to listen to. I simply cannot recommend this album highly enough. I guarantee you will love it.
