Margaret's Glen
by
Paul McCallum and Vivien Mackie
It was Margaret Fay Shaw’s wish that her friends Paul McCallum and Vivien Mackie should come together to record songs from her book ‘Folksongs and Folklore in South Uist’. She felt the songs were not being given justice and that they had changed considerably over the years. She always said, "the pages speak to me", a real tribute to the gentle people of North Glendale and South Lochboisdale. On this CD, Gaelic singer and Mod Gold Medallist Paul McCallum and acclaimed cellist Vivien Mackie perform songs from South Uist as collected by Margaret Fay Shaw in the 1930s. Absolutely gorgeous!
