    The Red Hot Chilli Pipers

    by Red Hot Chilli Pipers

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers are an exciting fast paced act made up of three pipers and two percussionists. The line-up includes the BBC Radio Scotland's Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2005, piper Stuart Cassells. This 10 track CD has lots of excellent pipe tunes including a couple of the late great Gordon Duncan classics and Davy Spillane's Atlantic Bridge. There is also a big production version of Highland Cathedral. Not surprisingly, this outfit are making quite a name for themselves in the world of corporate entertainment. Good on them!

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers are: Stuart Cassells (pipes), Willie Armstrong (pipes), Kevin MacDonald (pipes), Steven Graham (percussion), Malcolm McEwan (percussion).

Guest musicians: Stevie Lawrence (bouzouki, electric bouzouki, percussion, electric guitar, bass guitar); Lorne MacDougall (keyboards, extra pipes); Simon Moran (fiddle); Douglas Miller (piano track 6); Steven Black (drum kit).

If you like this CD hear their star player Stuart Cassells' solo album Blown Away. Check out the bands 2nd album Bagrock to the Masses.

I love this CD! Great energy, great musicianship. I would have given it 5 stars, but the length of the recording is its only downfall: 36 minutes. Please please please add another 10 or more minutes on the new CD!
