Dave and I are away to Germany for a short tour tomorrow. The dates are:

7&8, Dinslaken
10, Hildburghausen
11, Gardelegen
15, Schmalkalden
16, Ilmenau
17, Bad Frankenhausen

Come along if you are around... You will note that there are no venues, times etc mentioned but in each city there had been a major poster campaign so turn up anyway - you won't be able to miss us.

We had our first gig last night in the Canape restuarant. It was very nice and we met some lovely people. We're there again tonight and after that we make the trip to Ilmenau.

There will be a new ablum - no title as yet - due out in the early summer.

Another good gig last night. We're now on our way to Ilmenau through the snow and cars driving at 2000 miles per hour. I've just had my first German sausage of the tour and it was delicious! Looking forward to some more fried food later.

Another day of eating gone by. Managed to fit in a massive breakfast of rolls, eggs, meat, cheese and yoghurt and then follow it up in a service station with rostbratwurst, and finish the day with rump steak, potatoes and vegetables. Dave managed to order 'a cart of manure' featuring the star line up of fried egg, steak, potatoes all delivered in it's own wheel barrow.

Looking forward to another day of weight gain today.

Well I've finally found internet access again. Hildburghausen, Gardelegen were both lovely gigs. Hildburghausen was in an beautiful old town hall. The rostbratwurst was excellent in the town although in the first stall the man wouldn't sell us any. We had a trip to the local pub after the gig with the Michael, the local museum director to sample the delights of jever beer and Glenfiddich.

Next day was a long trip to Gardelegen through snow drifts and very poor visibility due to snow blizzards. The gig was in an 800 year old church. The people were very nice and presented us with a nice gift at the end of the gig. The church was amazing and we were taken a trip to the very top tower where we could over the whole area. For tea we had a pork, mushroom omelette.

Yesterday we drove to Berlin to stay with Keith Melville for a few days. Again it was snowing and the german drivers were flying past us at 2000 mph. We had a lovely beetroot soup for tea followed by venison and lovely red wine.

While your on your food tourism make sure you try a "Berliner" and understand why Germans laugh at the Kennedy quote "Ich bin ein Berliner"

Well we had a good day in Berlin and are having another one today. We're about to go and see the Brandenburg gate and other places. Not sure what we'll eat today but yesterday I had a non German pasta with mushroom sauce and out for tea to a Bavarian resturant and half a duck. I've also been enjoying some delicious German red wine courtesy of Keith. Hey ho it must be time for some Bratwurst although they say the thing to eat in Berlin is Currywurst eaten outside in the cold...

We had a great gig in Schmalkalden last night. It was getting dark as we arrived but it looked a beautiful town. Seemingly it is 1000 years old and was populated by the Celts. The gig was sold out and there were no chairs left anywhere in the building!

We stopped off at a great service station/food shop on the A9 yesterday. Their was a fabulous buffet of potatoe soup, many meats and roasted vegetables. Needless to say we ate our full... Now we're back in Thuringer region it is time to get back to the rostbratwurst where it is at it's best. Just to be controversial we had a pizza for lunch.

Last day today in Germany. We had a great gig last night in Ilmenau. We are now heading for Bad Frankenhausen and its famous Panorama Museum. Tomorrow we drive all the way across Germany and Belgium to get the ferry to Hull and back to mince and potatoes, haggis etc. We will probably have one more sausage for the road...

Next time could you maybe stop in Brussels on the way to/from the boat and do a gig in the Music Village or Sounds?

Well I'm home at last! There was a last minute dash for the boat but we made it just in time. The tour was fun and it was great to get a chance to play the material from the new CD. I'll put more food photo's up soon. Charlie's now 3 1/2 and getting funnier by the day!
