The 'first Friday' of the month Doon the Watter Folk Club (a sort of concert in the round rather than a session, a varied mixture and range of musical styles - mainly singing) has been going for about three years.
It is usually held in the dining room, which is regularly full to overflowing - however there are other areas of the pub where smaller impromtu sessions usually start up (green room, bar, outside, bunkhouse)

Recently a 'third Friday' of the month Green Rooom Gig event has been started. On this evening, individual or a small group of performers have the opportunity to sing / play for the whole evening, with someone else (usually chosen by the main performer) covering the approx. 40 minute interval.
This can be an accoustic night, however a full sound system is available for use for part or all of the gig.
Check the Whistlefield website for info - http://www.whistlefieldinn.co.uk

NB Iain Ingram has been pencilled in for November, with Clair Tierney as the support -- two talented songwriters!
