Tracks include: Feel so Near, Broken Wings, Talking with my Father, Caledonia, Ready for the Storm, Rescue Me, Marching Mystery, Holding Back and This Love Will Carry as well as the previously unreleased song Some Hearts. There are also a few Bonus "music videos" for a few of Dougie's newer songs.

Perth Concert Hall Gig
As part of Perthshire Amber - The Dougie MacLean Festival 2010 Dougie will be returning to Perth Concert Hall on Thursday 4th November 2010.

Definitely not to be missed, this will be THE Dougie concert of the festival. Celebrating the success of Dougie's top selling compilation album "The Essential Dougie MacLean", he will perform a selection of his classic songs and melodies from the past 30 years as a songwriter and composer.

The prestigious Perth Concert Hall is the perfect place to stage this Dougie MacLean Extravaganza, with its state of the art lighting and dramatic architecture. This will be a spectacular night, but this year we will be leaving the fireworks for the final bash at Edradour Distillery!

We will be running a shuttle bus to and from the Perth Concert Hall which will leave from Pitlochry Festival Theatre and have a collection point in Dunkeld.

WeeGuitar.com
Some of you may have noticed the absence of WeeGuitar.com, a site set up to share guitar tabs for Dougie's songs. We are in the process of creating a new and improved site where Dougie can share some of his guitar playing secrets. New features will include video tutorials as well as other visual aids to help master the songs on guitar.

You can't deny that this man is very enterprising and works extremely hard to promote himself and his music. :-)

So, good luck to Dougie and all his projects.

He is actually also a very distinctive writer and performer, sticking to his own style come what may, which is also worth a salvo or two. Not a reed to be blown in the wind. And not a one-hit wonder either.
Love him or feel-rather-irritated-by-his-(slow) 'style-consistency', you can't write him off. ;-)
He has given us some crackers, though.

Dougie is brill, but hand one of his songs to Dolores Keane and you have sheer bloody magnificence.

Good to see people enjoying singing a song, - a rare event in scottish folk !

Nice clip, boula, though I have have to say I don't think 'people enjoying singing' is particularly rare in Scottish folk in my experience. People seem usually enjoy singing everywhere I've been on my travels - even the Sasannachs! ;-).

Perhaps I need to borrow your spectacles Pict :-)

As the song in the clip 'Solid Ground' asks “Where is the simple smile?” :-)

Interesting here that Keane asked Maclean if she could take out his line
"Fa la-a la la la-a."
I am sure Maclean had his reasons putting that line in his version (several times). Not going to argue with one of Scotland’s greatest songwriters, but I do understand Keane omitting the line, better than I understand Maclean composing it.

Some other singers also played with his words, - don’t think I would like that.
Apparently on request and explanation with just cause and relevance he has been OK with that.

He is the man !

You might like this Pict - and fairly recent.

Motto: keep working at your audience and you can win them over in the end

I can bet in the first half of the song Dougie wished he could join Murdo.

Warning: Any Gaelic Choirs tuned in avoid this clip in the second half.

Time to flame up the ol’ barby, ........G’day mate!
