Posted: 26-Jun-2010 18:58 Good to see the big stadium names paying a bit more atttention to our music and superb musicians. First Mark Knopfler showing his roots in the Get Lucky CD but also taking Michael McGoldrick and John McCusker on tour evidently as an integrated part of the band , now Stevie Wonder and Martin. |

Posted: 28-Jun-2010 11:03 Judging by comments on Facebook, pretty much the entire trad scene in Scotland is proud of Martin for his appearance with Stevie W at Glastonbury. Well done, that man. |

Posted: 29-Jun-2010 10:37 I believe that Stevie Wonder introduced him personally on stage on Saturday night (Glastonbury) |

Posted: 29-Jun-2010 11:21 It's usually the common practice (and courtesy) to introduce the band members to an audience, surely? Even drummers... |

Posted: 29-Jun-2010 19:33 There was one massive band to be acknowledging them all - I think it was a mark of the man that he'd want to do that. Martin gets the big-up at about 30'50" - nice one! |

Posted: 30-Jun-2010 08:47 Tremendous performance by Stevie. I think I'm going to have to upgrade my old LP collection and get some CDs and start reminding myself how brilliant he is. Talking Book in particular was a great album. Isn't it wonderful to see such a legend still so good? I must say he was far better than anything else of Glastonbury which I caught, such as Muse for example. |

Posted: 30-Jun-2010 12:54 Just reading on FB that a friend of mine - accordionist Kevin Murphy was down at Stevie Wonder's Manchester gig last night. He was sitting with Martin's brother and they were both sitting in the front row watching the gig whilst wearing VIP backstage passes. He reports that Stevie Wonder asked him how he's doing and he replied 'fine'. :) |

Posted: 30-Jun-2010 13:56 I once got Freddie of Freddie and The Dreamers autograph. Now that really dates me. (Station Hotel in Inverness, if you're wondering John). |

Posted: 30-Jun-2010 14:20 God knows what he was doing there. But that's a funny video, man! Every young band should watch it to learn something about stagecraft. We can't have them all just staring at the floor looking serious. |
