Blazin' in Beauly
10 Years Matured!
11 to 15 Oct 2010 - www.blazininbeauly.com

If you play the fiddle, cello, keyboard or guitar come join the Blazin' Fiddles and friends for a musical extravaganza in a week of classes, sessions, concerts and craic in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.

Blazin' in Beauly was started by the band Blazin' Fiddles in the historic village of Beauly, 15 miles west of Inverness. With the aim of being "much more than a fiddle school" the intention of the week in Beauly is to immerse people in the music of the Highlands and Islands. You get the chance to work with world class performers; but the instruction is only a part of the week - the sessions, the talks, the concerts and the craic all add up to make Blazin' in Beauly THE fiddle event in the UK.
Core classes will be:
Fiddle (gentle paced, lower intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate and Advanced)
Keyboard, Guitar and Cello

In addition there will be a variety of afternoon workshops including gaelic singing, masterclasses, group work and sessions.

Our tutors for this this year are:
The Blazin Fiddles - Allan Henderson, Bruce MacGregor, Catriona Macdonald, Iain MacFarlane (all fiddle) with Andy Thorburn on Keyboard and Anna Massie (fiddle/guitar).
Guest Tutors are:
Aidan O'Rourke (fiddle) - Lau
Duncan Chisholm (fiddle) - Ivan Drever, Wolfstone & Julie Fowlis Band

Good to see the influence and legacy of Donald Riddell being recognised. He was undoubtedly my greatest influence and mentor in my early years, and I have one of the many examples of his excellent craftsmanship.
