Posted: 15-Aug-2012 16:10 The organisers of the annual Linlithgow Folk Festival are delighted to announce that RALPH McTELL will be the headline act at this year's event, which will run from the 5th to the 9th of September. Ralph has been on the road for over 40 years and is probably best known for his 1974 release, "Streets of London". A prolific and gifted songwriter and undoubtedly one of the biggest names ever to appear at Linlithgow Folk Festival, he was last here in 2005 and mesmeries a sell-out crowd with his wonderfully varied repertoire of songs and guitar styles. His latest album, "Somewhere down the road" is another superb selection. We are very excited and hugely delighted to be able to welcome him again. The support act will be BARLUATH, a highly talented young band from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, who won a Danny Kyle award at the 2012 Celtic Connections festival. Venue - the Linlithgow Academy Theatre. |

Posted: 20-Aug-2012 20:24 Lovely moment at Innerleithen Music Festival late session on Saturday night, when Pat from Ayr did "Streets of London" - gave me a chance to distribute leaflets and promote Linlithgow FF (like the shameless hussy I am!) |

Posted: 22-Aug-2012 06:16 I hear that the Box Office has had a surge in ticket sales! Perhaps as a result of all the publicity efforts over the weekend? Well done to everyone who helped at various location. Only two weeks to go. |

Posted: 25-Aug-2012 15:03 Great morning at the Farmers' Market this am: lots of flyers out including those for Doors Open Days which coincide with Festival weekend: plenty of interest in events including from the new manager of one of the pubs who went away armed with posters and flyers; and good music and craic from Cockleroy, with Neil inventing new words to old songs on the hoof as usual! |

Posted: 28-Aug-2012 23:05 Had a look through the Flyer. Wow !!!! What a busy few days that's going to be. There seems to something for everyone with so many venues and events all within walking distance of one another according to the map. Great that there's two nights with main acts on rather than having to make the choice. Really looking forward to the whole thing. |

Posted: 03-Sep-2012 10:03 Tell all your friends in The Black Bitch, West Port to give themselves a wee treat. Perhaps, you might even arrange an amnesty for any Bo'nessians wish to visit town for this one? |
