Posted: 24-Jun-2012 11:02 Just heading back from Portsoy Boat Festival where Fidil played a blinder. We met a good few other Footstompers too. It was a great weekend in the company of real good people. |

Posted: 15-Aug-2012 20:27 Was reading in the local newspaper about the Biggar concert. Pity they spelled their name wrong. http://www.carlukegazette.co.uk/lifestyle/lifestyle-leisure/folkies-fidil-head-to-biggar-1-2467900 |

Posted: 15-Aug-2012 21:26 These boys were playing with Solo Cissokho in Ireland at the weekend. We enjoyed the programme they put on with him during Celtic Connections this year. It was a very beautiful and uplifting occasion. I don't think they will be too worried that the Lanark Gazette spelt their name wrong. |

Posted: 16-Aug-2012 09:59 I think, having been billed as the Campbells of Greece, we might have stolen the march on mis-billings. But good one! |

Posted: 16-Aug-2012 10:06 In fairness, they didn't actually spell their name wrong at the start! It was actually just the quote from the Corn Exchange and afterwards. Of course, they could have corrected this prior to publication unless it's not policy to do so, ..i.e. alter written quotes? |

Posted: 16-Aug-2012 14:18 Tha lads won't mind a bit - and, re their work with Solo, have been recording material and a CD is in the pipeline. MAK - that's a good one. hand't seen it before. |

Posted: 16-Aug-2012 15:38 Ah but can you pronounce their name? Not as bad an error maybe as Hootsmon article on Rum, which is apparently in the very grassy HERBIDES! |

Posted: 16-Aug-2012 18:57 Hoot! There have been some real howlers in The Scotsman recently. What a damned disgrace. Don't they employ subs any more? |

Posted: 09-Sep-2012 13:54 The Glasgow event is now shaping up to be a spectacular after-event party with members of Fidil joined by an array of special guests to mark the All-Ireland final which takes place that afternoon, with hopes very much pinned on a victory for Co Donegal. Keeping the vibes very much in the positive vein, band members say they are definitely planning a "celebration", although it might end up simply being a celebration of the best in Irish trad music. |

Posted: 14-Sep-2012 23:54 Blazin Fiddles are out in front by leaps and bounds. I last saw them perform a couple of years ago. But I wanted to post a comment here to say how much I enjoyed the light and shade that Fidil bring to the stage. I read somewhere that they were described as mesmerizing. It could even have been Bruce Macgregor who said that, and it's true. So may subtelties and so different to anything else out there. A true breath of fresh air. As for The Blazers, it's like buying a ticket for Alton Towers and going on every single white knuckle ride. |

Posted: 16-Sep-2012 08:29 It was my first time in Torphichen and I want to recommend this venue. Fidil won over what was threatening to be a fairly rowdy room and took control of the night. They rocked and it ended up more of a ceilidh than a concert. These guys are heading to become one of the greatest assets Ireland has produced. Just dashing to the airport for a quick week in the sun (hopefully), but have The Old Wheel of Fortune for company. |

Posted: 17-Sep-2012 17:48 Many thanks to Simon for recommending Biggar Corn Exchange as a superb venue, which it most certainly is. Very enthusiastic audience too. We wish every night could be this good. |
