Congratulations to Bruce on being nominated to carry the Olympic Torch next year. Whittled down from millions, Bruce is one of 28,000 across the UK to have been recognised by the Olympics committee to go through to the next round. He was nominated for his musical achievements relating to being a world class fiddler, creating Blazin' Fiddles, starting Blazin in Beauly which generates over £100k for Beauly every year, and being a passionate supporter of all music at his venue, Bogbain Farm. His sporting achievements include captaining Highland Rugby club to promotion (and he wrote the Promotion Jig in honour of Highland); being the first non public schoolboy to captain Edinburgh Uni rugby club and toured the world with them and in 2011 will be a coach at Highland RFC.

He is also an award winning radio producer and presenter and Bogbain Farm - a business he started and has poured his all into - is the most popular place in the Highlands for quads, clays, archery and paintballing, as well as home of the Northern Roots Music Festival, Inverness Whisky Festival and others. All of us at Bogbain extend our congratulations to a great guy and wish him and all the other nominees the best of luck.

No wonder you are justifiably proud. We were talking to the man earlier today and he never cracked a light about this.
