Transatlantic Sessions - Series 4: This is the double DVD of the complete television series which was screened in the UK in Autumn of 2009. Filmed against a backdrop of the Scottish highlands, the series which was filmed and recorded in 2009 at Glenlyon House, Perthshire, features six half-hour programmes of excellent musical performance: There are 41 tracks; plus 4 bonus tracks; 30 minute documentary of behind the scenes footage and photographic slide-show. The Musical Directors and hosts for Transatlantic Sessions Series 4 are Nashville-based dobro king Jerry Douglas ) and fiddle supremo Aly Bain from Shetland. 

Flying the flag for Scotland are superb Gaelic singers Julie Fowlis, James Graham and Karen Matheson, Scots singer Emily Smith, Shetland fiddler Jenna Reid  and  piper Allan MacDonald. American star guests are folk titan James Taylor, Rosanne Cash, Allison Moorer, Martha Wainwright, Dan Tyminski and fiddle virtuoso Stuart Duncan. From Ireland comes Altan's Mairéad Ni Mhaonaigh, Karan Casey and Liam Ó Maonlai and the great Dónal Lunny (bouzouki), Dezi Donnelly (fiddle) and Niall Vallely (concertina). House Band members are Russ Barenberg (guitar/mandolin) and Todd Parks (bass) from Nashville, Ronan Browne and Mike McGoldrick (pipes and whistles) from Ireland, Scots Phil Cunningham and Donald Shaw (accordion and keyboards), James Mackintosh (percussion), and the legendary Danny Thompson (bass).
