The whistle must be one of the the most portable of musical instruments. It is very popular in Scottish traditional music and adds greatly to any musical ensemble. There are few who concentrate solely on playing the whistle but so many of our finest traditional musicians - fiddlers, pipers, accordionists - are also excellent exponents of the whistle.
